CENTER FOR INITIATIVES IN JEWISH EDUCATION
Every week, CIJE’s (Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education) STEM experts will be presenting a new session adapted from their curriculum to be easily done at home. For example, this week students in grades 5-8 will learn about simple machines and catapults. Students can sign up for these fun online sessions using the link provided.
CIJE VIRTUAL COMPETITIONS
In addition to the CIJE home sessions, CIJE has also created some STEM based competitions for students in grades 3-12.
CS FIRST
Google’s free introductory computer science curriculum is designed for students in grades 4-8. Students can use their Google accounts to sign-up and begin learning all about computer science and coding with self-guided activities and lessons.
APPLIED DIGITAL SKILLS
A free resource from Google is called Applied Digital Skills, where students can work on all types of self-guided projects to learn how to use a variety of Google Apps. Students can even begin to prepare and work towards their G Suite Certification, a professional certification from Google.
GIRLS WHO CODE: CODE AT HOME
The reputable Girls Who Code organization is releasing weekly engaging free activities for students in grades 3-12. While these coding activities highlight women in technology, there isn’t any reason why they shouldn’t be open to everyone.
TEACH ENGINEERING
